I get 2 weeks vacation so far. If you don't take the vacations by the end of the year, they give avg. out your hours, and give it to you via. paycheck.

Funny you should ask. My wife and I were discussing this recently over upcoming summer vacation plans. Working professionally since 1977, I've never had more than 2 weeks. Her father, a Dupont plant employee in the 60's, had six weeks of vacation. Six weeks! Does any employer still grant 6 weeks of vacation these days? (Self employed need not reply, we know you guys are lucky to get one week off.)

I take two to three weeks off each year UNPAID for spring break up and another two or three weeks during the summer to make hay (if I am working out of town in town no time off just make hay after work).

It would not matter how much time I could take off it could never be vacation because their is always somthing to do around the farm or rental houses.

5 weeks a year, and all the normal Hoildays.

Also get the week off between Christmas and New Years.

One strange job I had would only let me take a few days off after a whole year went by. Now the funny thing is I end up working on almost every holiday. I will probably end up with 5 weeks vacation.

Two weeks - they also count as your sick days. Last year my son was sick for two weeks straight, my wife and I traded off staying home with him (at least she only works half days so I could finish the day at work). By the end of the year I had taken three days for myself, day after Thanksgiving, extra day on the Fourth of Juy, and Christmas Eve. This year I'm going to go for four.

I was on a offshore rig 3 or 4 times to install some two-way radio gear. By the time I got up the stairs, I had to take a break. They sure had some good food.
