Measurements request

Hi there, I have a somewhat odd request to make for those of you who own an early 1950's standard duty Ford truck. (F-1?) I client needs a 3d model of a ford truck from this era, and I am in need of a few measurments.

I was wondering if one of yall could measure a few things for me, or if these measurements are available somewhere?

I need 3 measurements:

* length and width of the bed (the floor of the bed)

* measurment from the bottom of the driver door window to the bottom of the passenger window (through the inside of the cab)

* measurement from the bottom of the door to the top of the door.

If someone could provide these measurements, I would be very grateful!

Thanks so much,

Daniel Buck

Daniel,

If the 53-56 Ford F100 would do, then go to -

https://www.ford-trucks.com/framered...on.clubfte.com

And go over to the left side. Drop down to the bottom where it says NEW 53 F100 Specifications or something like that. Most everything you're looking for is there.

If it really has to be a 48-52, then just re-iterate that as several of us have the same source as John and can scan and post/email the 48-52 version of John's specs.

Later,

48-52 measurements: the bed dimensions are the same as 53-56

the door height is 52" at the highest point (gradual curve) and measured on the outside (also gradual curve top to bottom)

the door window driver's side to pass side is approx 52" at the front bottom corner and 57" rear bottom corner and narrows toward the top. Need the upper measurements?

oh wow! thanks a ton guys!

ferguson777: how different are the sizes from the 48-52 and the 53-56? I think I will do the 53-56, I like the looks of those a bit better. I was just told "early 50's". I'll check with him though.

mtflat: Thats exactly what I needed, thanks very much! I don't think I need anymore measurements

Again, thanks very much!

Daniel,

I can't speak about the doors, etc (I'd have to truge through some deep snow to get to where mine are) but with regard to the beds-

F1 bed -

A. load length (length of inside of bed) = 78.06"

B. load height (top of floor to top of side) = 20.25"

C. load width (inside bed) = 49.00"

F100 bed -

A. 77.9"

B. ????? probably within an inch of the F1

C. 49.00"

Width at top of bed sides where they are angled out = 57.4"

I'll get killed on here for this statement, but I'd go with the 53-56 model anyway - they're the most beautiful of the Ford trucks from 1941 through 2004 anyway.

Ferg,

I'll go along with that if you will agree that the 42-47 is the ugliest and all 54s should have 55 grilles!

Hey the truck grows on you. Before I got my truck I didn't like the 51-52 trucks. I wanted a 48-50, 53-56, 61-66. I wanted something to tinker on so I bought the 51 and now I love it!

Hey dont forget about the 57-60 years...they are'nt as bad as every one says they are. take a look at my gallery and the concept color scemes. Im starting my 2nd one (60 with wrap rear window) I like the 1935 truck and the 48-50 years.

they're all old fords so all of them are cool

Here's the factory chart for a '51, which will be the same as for the '48-'50 era. Stu

Re: shop space. From experience you NEVER have enough space (unless it's complete and just for parking)! Clear as much space as you can.
