solid motor mounts

Hey I built me motor a little, and an running pretty high gears. And so I break motor and tranny mounts exactley as often as a floor my truck as of late.
My question is are solid motor mounts a good idea, or do I have to give up my good gas milage by switching out my rear end gears.
P.S. I have the ability to make the solid motor mounts easily.

You might try a torque strap. Solid mounts will vibrate your fillings out.

I can grap a head bolt on one side, the one that matters less, but on the torque side there is nothing good. Can I run a strap or chain straight down from the motor mount?

You could use a chain with a bolt to the front of the head of the drivers side (not a head bolt). Use an accessory bolt. Run it to the frame at a 45 degree angle and leave just a little bit of slack. Also some motor mounts have a built in limiter but it's probably not real strong.

How big of a bolt do you think that I will need? The alternator mount is on that side and would probably would well if they are big enough.
