set the appt for 8" fabech lift.thought the 38/15.5/16.5 tires look really good on this lift but the salesrep was trying to steer me for 37"12.5. i think those tires are just a bit too narrow for the 8".if i go with the 15.5" swamper radials, will they rub on the inside of fender towards the door? i realize the valance will either need to be trimmed or removed.if the swampers really rub is there any other 38" tire that would work? baja claw, dick cepek???appreciate the feedback.

Just some info on Baja Claws... the 38s actually measure a bit over 39", and they are one of the LOUDEST tires I've heard on the pavement. They are hardcore off road tires, and if you plan to use them, don't get 16.5 wheels since you can't air those down. You'll be lucky to get 15000 miles on a set, and they aren't cheap.

dude!!! great! you wil like this lift.. and you can econmically go 3" taller when your ready with a body lift (240 for the parts and around 600 for the labor when your ready!! or you can do it yourself if you are so inclined to spend around 6-8 hours doing it... or so i have read... the shops will want 8-10 labor hours to do it they say and you'd hope they have experience, so i'd figure on two full days if you do it yourself with a buddy (i hear the going rate for the is a case of beer??)... not like my experience. ).

those 38 inch TSL/Radials will fit just fine under an 8" fabtech lift... the TSL/Radials really measure 37.6" according to interco's website or 37.1" according to other sources on the net... the PJ's are suppose to be a true 38" and they fit fine too... so, you are good... you may get good bit of rubbing on your leaf springs at full lock, but the 4wd shop should be able to tack weld a bit on the steering stops... i did this to mine and have very minimal rubbing at full lock and show no signs of wear on the tire or tread lugs from it after about 6000 miles. what rims did you go with? you should be at the 9.75" wide ones with these tires.. 10-12 will work, but not optimally for the tires and you will probaby get a lot more rubbing at these widths i'd imagine. interco recommends this 9.75" rim width with all of their 15.5" wide tires on 16.5" wheels (even the 39.5 and 42 inchers).

so... i'd stick with the 38x15.5's because althought if you got a 37 and it was truely 37 inches (who knows with radials... they usually run smaller than their stated height and width... ??? why i have no idea ???)... you would still be at 12" wide which in my opinion looks too narrow at that height... proportionally the higher you go in tire height, the narrower the tire seems... i have seen 42's at 15.5" wide and they look like 35x9.5 inche tires u see dually's sometimes running... or military tires, if you have been so inclined (old enough and been in the military or have watched M*A*S*H. ) to have been around old a jeep's or a duce-and-a-half's tires.

ok.. so when is your installation appt? and when your done, we better get some pics up here!!!

btw.. u can look at my pics for a couple at 8" and 38" tsl/radials... if you need to see some to keep you at bay while they have your rig!

and... if your interested in a good deal on rims and tires... mine are for sale! i am ready for the 44's

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 29-Apr-02 AT 01:57 PM (EST)]You should be fine with the 8" kit and 38x15.5x16.5 with 16.5x9.75 rims. Thats the combo I would have done if I were in your shoes. It will look alot better than the 37x12.5 tires. There shouldn't be any rubbing and if by chance you do, it should only rub on the front bumper not by the doors (the shop should be able to trim the front bumper a little if it does rub). Take a look at Abendxs truck pics when he had just the 8" kit. It will show you what yours will look like.
