35" super swamper boggers or 38" tsls
well i finally am getting the money for my new tires. i have just over a grand to buy them with. i currently have 16/38.5/15 swamper tsls on my truck. for araound the same price that i can get the 38 tsl for, i can get a set of 16/35/15 boggers. i know its a dumb question but what do yall think would be best. im thinkin i should go with the bogger even though it is smaller. the truck looks good with 38s on her but the boggers just look way cooler and way out perform the tsl. whats everyones input on this????

I thought the only 35" boggers were 15/14.50/15. I see them listed at National Tire & Wheel for $211 a pop.
They also have the newest size bogger 37/13.00/15 for $225
Or why not break the piggy bank and go with the 18x39x15 boggers for $322.
I think the 35's would look awful small after having the 38.5 TSL's.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-Mar-02 AT 10:57 AM (EST)]what it should boil down to is what kind of driving are you going to be doing if you are going into alot of mud then yes the boggers or the swampers. But if you are going to spend that much money on tires then you will want something that not only looks cool but something that will give you your $$$$$$$ worth if you do alot of street driving I see guys all the time that throw $2500.00 at a set of MT Claws or TSL's and Swampers and they never see mud or anything they want to look cool and complain after 10,000 miles the tires are almost wore out. It all boils down to what you want and what you are going to do with your truck.

fordmaniac, I'm in the same boat as you right now. My truck is pretty similar to yours too. '78 F-150, 4"lift and Detroit locker in the rear. All I think about is tires all day long for the last few months. Just waiting on my tax return now. I think I'm going to go with the 38.5 x 15 Ground Hawgs. I've gone to mud bogs since I was a kid and I've seen every type of tire and size out there. I think the boggers dig too much unless you have a ton of power and can keep going otherwise when you start to slow down they dig you down fast. Plus 35's are kinda small. The swampers work good and look good but wear out fast like the boggers. One reason I'll probably go with the Hawgs is that from what I've seen they work just as good as the swampers and last forever on the street. They also cost about the same as the 38.5x16 swamper. I dont drive on the road every day and its mostly dirt roads where I live anyway, but If I'm gonna spend $1100 on rims and tires I want them to last me a LONG time. Also the gumbo monster mudder is kinda similar to the super swampers and I've always heard they last longer too. Sorry for the long post I love to talk about tires.

all ill say is nothing pulls in the mud like a bogger, i havent gotten stuck to date with my boggers, i got through lots of places where people with 38 tsls. 39 mickey baja belteds, 40 inch hawgs all get stuck or struggle, i just pull on through, i f i were you i would stick wwith the 38 tsl's over the 35 boggers for clearance reasons if you go through alot of deep mud, or if your fenders are trimmed a good bit, bite the bullet and go with the 39.5x18 boggers and a 3 inch body lift, youl be surprised how much harder they pull than the tsl's....

yeah i pretty much made up my mind. the boggers are the way to go. now just what size??? i saw the new 37x13x15 bogger on 4wheelparts.com and it is a dollar cheaper than the 16/35/15 bogger. and national tire and wheel can ship them to me for 993.60 with tax and shpping. not bad i thought they would be more expensive. any one know of a cheap place to get swampers through mail order?????

hmmmmmmmm thanks for all the posts guys. i just cant seem to make up my mind between the 35s or the 37s. i know the 35s are wider at 16 inches and my buddy says they will pull better than the 37s that are only 13 inches wide. im almost positive that i will have a little more power if i run the 35s. any one else have anything to say on the subject??

This even isn't a question tsl boggers are the best tires you can buy look in any off road magazine and you can purchase them for around 209 a pop. If you don't think i know my tires go to
www.off-road.com/chevy/reviews/bogger/ and see what they hvae to say.

well i think i have made up my mind. i am going with the 16/35/15 boggers. today i had my spindles apart to re-pack my front wheel bearings and found out that the drivers side spindle was cracked, causing the top of the tire to be pushed inward. after seeing this and a busted third member on my 9 inch when i put my mini spool in 2 weeks ago, i think that i should go with the smaller 35s and not the bigger 38s like i have on the truck now. i guess bigger tires just find the seak spots on the truck. besides i will be the first of all my 4 wheelin/muddin buddies to be running the boggers. i cant wait to get em on my truck!!!

i guess its too late to mention it, but i had the 37's, they like to digya down because they are so narrow, you made a good choice with the 35's, it sounds likeyou wheel hard, so you should probably keep it to 35's unless you upgrade to dana 60's or more, happy wheelin with the boggers, youe gonna love them...and when you first get them youre gonn think they're quiet on the road, wait till you get 1000 miles on them, hahahahaaa
