Just bought me a 99 F-250 Crew Cab 4x4 and going to be lifting it this weekend. I have had many F-150's & Bronco's and I have always ran 35-38" tires. 35" where always BFG MT & the 38" where some form of swampers with my favorite being the Boggers. Of course this was 10 years ago and tires where much cheaper and allot of new ones are out.
I am going to be running 38"s again, just cant for the life of me make a good decision of what I should get. So, I am reaching out for some help with making my decision.
Here is what I have - 99 F-250 4-door 4x4. Pro Comp 8.5" Lift. XD775 Rockstars 20x12.
I want a 38x15.5x20 tire that will give me the BEST street mileage. Yes I am aware I am asking for a miracle, but I do not do any off-roading.
Here is what I have been looking at -
Kumho Road Venture MT KL71 - 38x15.5-20
Super Swamper Radial Irok - 39.5x13.50-20
Super Swamper TrXus STS AT - 38x15.5-20
Super Swamper Radial TrXus MT - 38.5x14.5-20
Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ Specialty - 38x15.5-20
Mickey Thompson MTZ Specialty - 38x15.5-20
Super Swamper Radial SSR - 38x15.5-20
Toyo Open Country MT - 38x15.5-20
Nitto Mud Grappler - 38x15.5-20
Is there really a noticeable visual difference between a 15.5 & the 14.5 or 13.5?
What kind of mileage did you get out of them and what where they under?
Well, I ended up having to sell the truck before I even got close to wearing them down, but I'd say I put about 10k on them easy, maybe 15k and they looked like they were barely used. I got the E load range ones. I think they were either 265/75/r16 or 285, I can't remember for sure. I had them under an 00 Silverado 2500HD 4x4.
Oh, and I've had my truck with some BFG all terrains on it for about a week now, and I'm pretty impressed with these rubbers. Lots of grip in the wet and the snow.
Hubby swears by Mickey Thompson's wich is what I will put on my F 250 ....
If you want a Tire with a *Name* these are the ones. A bit more but I think its worth it if you come up with the Money

Thank you for the input. I don't mind paying a little more for any tire, especially if its going to give me some extra mileage on the road. I just want something that looks good and gives me the most street mileage. I would love to put a set of boggers on there. I love those tires, its just that they where so quickly. Money is tighter then it used to be. lol
Again THANK YOU to those that have replied.
