Will They Fit

I have a 1992 Ford F-250 4x4 and I plan to purchase a 4 inch suspension lift by tough country and a 3 inch body will I be able to fit 38" Super Swamper TSL's or will I need more lift. I am running 32 x 11 tires stock and they don't rub. Thanks for any information.

I dont think your tires are going to fit. From my past experience
you need 2.5 inchs of lift for every inch of tire above stock.
Thats a good rule of thumb.

that doesn;t sound right. I mean my bronco has 27" stockers on it and if I wanted to put 44's on it that means I need 42.5" lift. I don't think they make them that big!

If it is still running. you didn't try hard enuf!

2.5 inchs is a little much, you could get away with 1.5
I do that so the tires dont rub on the fenders when fourwheeling. If you put a suspension and body lift its more like 1 inch lift, but I dont use lift blocks or body lifts
Its alot easier to go to a drivetrain shop order lifted
spring and get your drivelines extended at the same time.
I put 36 inch tires on a fullsize ford and never had any clearence problems. This way if I ever want to increase
tire size I wont need to lift it again.

I'll start by telling you what I have. I've got a 6" suspension lift plus a 2" body lift for a total of 8" of lift on my Bronco. I run 38.5" Gumbo Mudders on the trail (actual loaded about 37" dia) and I do get some rubbing on the front edge of the rear wheel openings and on the rear corners of the front openings under compressed turns during extreme compression. Now, I am aware that F-250's can fit slightly larger tires than F-150's/Broncos with the same amount of lift. So, my advice is to take in consideration the actual measured tire sizes between different brands/types of tires and your type of wheeling. Oh, and tire width too. I have 15" wide tires, 38x12.5" tires wouldn't rub as much up front.
