I like a saying I heard here. "It'll pass anything but a gas station". 10 mpg or less around town and maybe 14 highway.
Those with them sure seem to like them though.
well over all i was somewhat satisfied with my 2002 f250 v-10 until at 59000 miles the crank shaft went i was told by the dealer and ford they would offer no assistance in this matter there were no indications of engine trouble prior to this happening
utvols98,
I think if you have to ask or have any doubts about moving up to a 250, then maybe you stay with the 150. I loved my `94 F-150, but that 305 just wouldn't cut the mustard for hauling our travel trailer. I think if you're going to do any kind of "serious" hauling, then the 250 should at least be your benchmark. As for the V10...I can't say enough about it. I can pull all day long and in and out of the mountains too boot and she always has power to spare. On the milage thing, I'm pretty much like the other posts - if it's a major concern(i.e. can you afford it), then stick with the 150 or seek out a more "economical" vehicle.
I get 10 mpg. average pulling fully loaded with the travel trailer. Running solo at 72 mph all day long, averages me 15+mpg.
I love my truck AND my V10....you can never have too many ponies!

I noticed you posted this before and did not respond to questions that others asked. With your post count, everyone is going to wonder if you are not a troll?
yeah I'd like to hear more about the "crankshaft" thing as well, did the truck have oil?, did it break? etc etc....these V 10"s have a bulletproof bearing and block system to hold that crankshaft in. give us more info....
fjord thanks for that link i'm glad to know i'm not the only one experiencing problems however for more information as to why mine happened if i could explain how or why mine happened i would be glad to but i was driving down the street at 50 mph and experienced this major mechanical failure i only knew it was the crank because the dealer had informed me of this there were no prior indications of any problems no warning lights/oil pressure drop until after the experience as for trolling everone else can think what ever they like thats why these are open forums and if more people dont complain about problems they have with there vehicles the quality of product will never change.

Those were replaced under warranty. Most were caught before the were bought by the public.
I find it unusual that he can't give any more facts than "the dealer had informed me of this". I might add that if it happened to me I certainly would be able to give a short 500-1000 word explanation on the situation. Of course, I would bring it home and fix it here and take pics of the broken parts and add my theory as to how and why it happened.
