1997 4.2l hard starting problem

i have read some of the other posts about this hard starting problem, so i will check out some of the things ican, the tps, the maf, and such just installed new plugs and wires! i am also installing a block heater, but i'm wondering what to use to pull out the frost plug its in there pretty good! also where should i drain the coolant from?? any help with this would be greatly appreciated! thanks!!

The drain for the rad is on the passenger's side back of the rad. It is a 3/4" nut looking thing. The block will drain when you pop the frost plug out......most of it will probably end up on you so wear eye protection etc.
To remove a frost plug you can use a screwdriver and hammer to tap in one corner of it. That will **** it in the bore then you can pull it the rest of the way out with Vise-Grips.
Clean the frost plug hole well with some fine sandpaper before you install the heater.

thanks racerguy,

now i can finish, just wasn't sure how sensitive the frost plug was, but i'll give it a little american know how the BFHand if that still don't work i'll use bigger BFH, well i'll let ya know how all this works out see if it still starts hard! thank you

Yet,another reason why I live here in Florida. And with the temperature outside at a balmy 70*,life is good!

Been here since 1987......no rust problems or salty problems with any of the rides ive owned. And that 1984 GMC I sold last year,the one I came here to Florida in,still had the original paint on it; and NO RUST! Ya'll are just jealous because I am only 10 minutes away from the beach!
