Oh yeah, I told him I'm giving them to oppurtunity to resolve this with out going to the Attorney General with my attorney. I explained if I go there they will have to pay for the new truck and the attorney fees. I think I'll get somewhere by next week, why else would he want more time. If his final answer was "No" I think he would have given it to me.
I had a similar problem with my Mazda recently (Ford Product) with the exact same scenarios. I went to all the right people with no results whatsoever, until I ****ed off the right person. I made it very clear I was not going to go away, lawyer, BBB, etc, etc. and what do you know, the warranty miraculously covered the previously uncovered engine. Must be a corporate thing. Oh yeah, mine only took 45 days to get done all the time I was in a rental car. MORAL: Never Roll Over! It is not worth it to them in the long run to NOT fix it. Oh yeah, who did I **** off, The Public Relations Director of Mazda USA with my Press release to the Associated Press. of all things...
alfie, is that the dealer on rt 9?? I might be up grading to the 6.0 and usually deal with the dealer in kingston but am curious to which dealer you are having the trouble with. thanks nick
Why in the world would you want to buy a 6.0l diesel? Is it not crystal clear yet that these things are pure JUNK!?!
When will Ford pull this dog out of their trucks? And for that matter WTF are they doing treating customers who spend $40k like they are? I will tell you what, I am a died in the wool Ford truck man, but they are really testing my loyalty. And I'll tell you what, when my loyalty changes...that's it. $40k every 3 years down the tubes!!!
so alfie.... what's cookin' with your situation anyway....been remarkably silen in this post ...
Sorry I've been away for awhile. I went down to Daytona for the 500. While I was there I got a call from the Area Rep and he told me Ford was going to replace my truck without arbitration. They would either give me my money back or swap it out for another truck. I'm going to opt for the swap and I guess I get to pick out what I want and pay any extra money for more options. The only hitch at this point is the aftermarket equip. I have about $4k in tires, wheels, springs, shocks, etc. and I don't think I should have to put one once of effort into taking it off or putting it back on the new truck. But here's the glitch, I don't want Ford to touch it so I asked them to pay for the equipment and I'll eat the time to put it in. I'll let you know how I make out....

What kinda LAME excuse is that ????????... WHERE ARE YOUR VALUES????????
dang... sounds like a blast.
Glad to see that you seem to be making progress. Hell, ask 'em to let you have both trucks long enough to get your aftermarket stuff off number 1 on onto number 2. Just swap appropriate things, remove and replace the add-on stuff.
All they can do is say no (agreed, their GOOD at that).
If they don't go for THAT, nail 'em with all your receipts and say
SHO ME THE $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ baby....
If they are buying the thing back, they're admitting culpability.... you have the (legal) right to be made whole on your (soon to be retired) truck.
Sorry, I felt bad going there and leaving all you guys here.....
Good idea on the swap scenario. I'll throw that at them next time they call me. In the mean time I'm going to find out how strong this new engine really is. I hope the clutch holds up.....
Thanks for the help. We'll see how it turns out.... I'm going to add another post asking if others have gotten Ford to pay up on the aftermarket stuff to see what they say....
