I have a 2000 Ranger with 225/70/15 and I am beginning to looking for new tires. I was curious if anyone can help with some additional information. I am thinking about (1) plus sizing my tires and rims. Say, if I was to go to a 235/60/16 tire, that would be a diameter difference of 1.1% which from what I've read is acceptable. What are the drawl backs if I was to plus size? Any other information on the subject would be appricated. Thanks Tim
Hi and welcome to FTE. I never can keep the tires sizes straight in my mind. The slight change in diameter won't hurt anything. If they are wider, you may drop the mileage a little.
Thanks for the reply's. I am even more confused now! What I would like achieve is a larger and meatier looking tire. This link below http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit
is where I've been putting in tire/rim sizes. With using there 3% as a guideline, I can only come with a smaller looking tire. Going from 225/70/15 and dropping the aspect ratio to a 60, and staying under the recommended 3%.
Thanks again
