i have 92 bronco with a 5.8 liter 302...when it you put your foot down on the accelerator, there is a screaming noise from the front of the car (it does this idling too, just to less extent). thinking it was the tension idler wheel, i got a new one installed...the same day that it was installed, the noise came back....could it be the alternator? when i spray a lubricant or something like wd 40 on it it stops for a while but starts again when you restart the truck...someone help me!! it is not that big of a deal because the truck is more of a mudding truck than a show truck so i dont really mind...even so, its annoying...any help would be appreciated
I dont think the Alternator itself would be making that sound. Try checking all your belts. I dont know if your truck has a serpentine belt, but it anycase, check the belts.
You should of chaged the belt when you replaced the tensioner.
WOW a 5.8 litre 302, never heard of this. a 5.8 is a 351 5.0 is a 302 so which do you have? brother inlaws f150 did the same thing and it turned out to be the fan clutch.
I want one of those engines. A 5.8L v8 w/ 302cubic inches.
Does it idle smoothly? How much torque and HP does it put out.
I demand details! And I also would like to know how I could go about building one up. I have a 302 and a 351w, do you combine the 2 or what. That thing must have the low end torque of a 5.8 and the smooth idling, and MPG of a 302.
I want one now!!!
