Tailgate Capacity?
Anyone seen a "Tailgate Rating" from Ford? Seems to me like there's got to be a maximum load for these things.
I starting thinking about it this afternoon as I was driving a 700 lb Polaris atv down a ramp off my tailgate.

Should be in the owner's manual. Its 500lbs if I recall.

I read some where that the cables are rated 500 lbs Max dont remember where.

Tailgate Capacity?
I had to replace a set on another truck a few years ago.
The dealer said the cables were rated for 500 lbs. Shouldn't be an issue unless you get all the weight on one side. As for the quad, mine weighs about 600 lbs. and I don't have any problem with loading it. But, remember that not all that weight is on the tailgate. It is also distributed across the ramps and to the ground.
