Jan Flash

I'm hearing some rumors that there is a Jan 12th flash out.

Anyone know if this is true and what is does? Is this the mileage and power flash we all have been waiting for????

Thanks

There was a post asking about it. No information to verify it. There was post by someone saying they got their truck flashed in early Jan. The flash number they gave was the Dec flash. I don't think there is one out yet.

Yes sir, there is a new flash out as of the 12th. We have a crewcab 4x4 at work that goes in Monday to get it. I have no idea what this is about and have recommended that they don't have it done until they know what it is about. It's scheduled for Monday AM anyway.

On Jan 14 I had the following:

Perform Reflash Recall
345 WFWL 0.18
348 WFWL 1.32
1.50

Couldn't tell you what they are. Dealer told me its the latest update from FMC.

Any input would help as the service desk didn't

thanks

There has been three upgrades to flashes since 12/12/03, none of them have addressed issues with 6.0L's...

I also heard from flatratetech.com there is a new WDS release but does not address 6.0L issues.

I just got the latest flash from my dealer on 01/13/04. The most thing that I noticed was that the tranny shifts firmmer. The get up and go still appears to be the same. When I get done with a full tank I'll post back the results. I live in So. California

Tim, I haven't done any towing with my truck yet, just hauling my camper around. I haven't notice any changes in the T/H mode. The recall # is 03E03, it's suppose to deactivte the pilot fuel injection for better idle and smoothness (no change here) and it's louder at idle. Nothing to say about mpg yet, haven't tanked up since I got the new flash.

I took my truck in for the 03E03 recall and it was flashed on Jan 14th with the latest flash according to the service guy. I don't have the receipt handy or I would include the text regarding the flashes.

The two things that I've noticed are that in the tow/haul mode, the transmission no longer stays locked up in high gear going down a hill in T/H mode, it unlocks just like the normal driving mode. That said, if I depress the brake, it will lock up the torque converter and downshift like it did before.

The other thing that it does is smell worse. Not the diesel ash exhaust kind of smell but something a bit more pungent.

Just had my truck reflashed.
Paperwork has on it, vxbb7n8 file number4cbaatf pcm part

Tech said the flash loaded is
calibration 307a-12a650-ftc version b29.1

It seems to run fine, puff in the mornings when cold, no hauling yet still need to run it some more.

Can anyone confirm what the PCM reflash info really is?

FORD should post what the fixes are in each version just like
any computer company lists fixes in their code.
