Tire choice for E350

I'm starting look for tires for my E350. It has 245/75-R16 load E. The tires are off brand of Cooper and are not impressed with them. The van had Goodyear's on it originally and all kinds vibation problems with them, and I really do'nt like there tires anyway. What I'm looking for is some suggestion on different brands and how the wear was. They must be a load E range tire becouse I tow a 32ft. TT that weighs 9000lbs.

15 years I've been in Fire/EMS I can tell you to two best tires I have ever used on an ambulance.
1. Michelin LTX M/S
2. GoodYear Wrangler H/T
Also, there is the Michelin LTX A/S
All of these tires are 'E' rated.
If it were my van, I'd use the Michelin LTX M/S
Thats the best I can do ya.

This web site gives you good info and comparisons on tires.

I will second the Michelin LTX M/S. Had a set on my '85 Bronco and they were awesome tires. I then had a set of Big O Big Foot A/T's on my '95 F150 and they were every bit as good as the Michelins, with the exception that it took more weight to get them balanced. Now, neither of these were E rated, but they both make E rated tires in those patterns.

Michelin by far... they can see as much as 60k.. I've seen the LTX a/s come in to my shop on some of the dodges in the same size you are looking for with 80k+ and that was there stock tire. Bfg also makes a BFG Commercial T/A that comes with a 50k warranty. The bf's run about $101.99 installed at Costco, and the michelins are about $150. Costco is having a sale for $60 off all there sets of 4 thru the 1st of feb. And they can get any of the Michelins of the FB from them

I had the Goodyear Wrangler HT's on it in fact there was two sets on it. First set had a vibration. Fought w/ dealership after countless trips to have them balanced and a number of BS stories telling me it was normal or the 1 ton suspension they put another set of HT on. Ten times worse if I had false teeth they would have vibrated ouy of my mouth. So they put the tires that are on it now. One question I have is are all E range tires side walls the same # of plys

No you can find load range E tires that have a steel belt in the side wall and 2 nylon belts. The Michelin XPS ribbed tire has an extra steel belt in it. You would only need this for carrying heavy loads or on a motor home..... they are a fairly rough riding tire.
