Unfortunately it's that time,, again,,, to buy tires... Wow,,, they've JUMPED in price....
I'm needed some suggestions on what tire to run...'00 PSD 4X4 F250SC.. 265/75R16 (load range D or E)
Currently running Cooper ATR's that have made it to 78k. Love the Cooper's, but, they're now $200-$225 ea (incl mount/bal and road-haz),, was quoted some Kumho AT KL-78's @ $177 ea (incl mt/bal/rh).... I know nothing about the Kumho's... any suggestions good or bad on the Kumho's???? or any other suggestions you may have on another brand...
I want an all-terrain tire,, nothing aggressive as the Cooper ST or STT.. I'm looking to keep some mpg's and have the ability to get off the highway while maintaining some decent traction.. (need to stay in load range D or E)
If you can get 78k out of the Coopers, I'd spend the money on them again. Maybe shop around for prices at a different store.
I've tried several different tires and been very disappointed with most. I've tried most of the junk Discount Tire sells as well as a few others. Scorpion and Michelin gave me the shortest amount of miles. The old Firestone Steeltex (no longer made) and Coopers were the only ones I've had that made it to 70k.
I've never tried the Kumho's. If you try them I'd be interested in hearing what you think. Last time I replaced mine I stuck Cooper ATR's back on there.
I too am getting close. Was running the Hankook M/T's. Didn't get but about 25k out of them. Was thinking about trying some BFG A/T's and see how they do. But your right, tire prices sure have gone up in the last year and a half. Wish my pay went up that fast.
BF Goodrich Commercial T/A. Good prices at Sears Etc. and run extremely smooth. I run them on the truck and 32ft. 5th. wheel. Check them out on the Goodrich site.
Toyo Open Country ATs. I got over 50k out of my last set of Open Country MTs and just got a new set. A buddy has about 40k now on a set of the ATs and they look GREAT! I'd be surprised if he didn't get around 70k out of them
