I have a 1967 f100 with a stock 352 in it and I was wondering what would be the best performance cam that I can buy that will sound good and give me some power. I was looking at comp cams and I found one that sounded good for the money but i am still a beginner at this stuff. the cam was at http://www.racenet.net/valve/cca-ford-352-428-cams.php
at the 275 deh cam. keep in mind that i dont have that much money. Please help
I would look into some dual pattern cams. The FE heads are lacking on airflow on the exhaust. The Crane 343941 is a great cam for stock heads. You can go to www.cranecams.com to get the cam spec card for it.

Dual pattern cams have either more or less duration and lift on the exhaust lobe. It is usually more. For the FE you want more if you are running stock heads. The 343901 is a great dual pattern cam for people who want an upgrade in performance but don't want to deal with loosing low end torque, vacuum etc.... With the Edelbrock heads you should be running a single pattern or something close to a single pattern.
You will have a slight lope with the 941. Nothing nasty. You should pick up at least 35HP over the stock truck cam and maybe more. It would work great with the 406 heads.
Ford1967....They claim a GOOD Idle.... Not smooth.... As far as how much HP.. I couldnt tell you? I guess it would depend on the combo..etc...you have it set up with? Good Luck!! Russ..
Considering he said he's on a budget, I would check out Northern Auto Parts, since he can get the same cam with lifters for $99.00 as opposed to $179.00 for the same thing. Nothing aginst Jegs, as I've bought from them before. But come on, $79.00 extra just to get a sticker to put in your window, and another catalog? Al

Sounds like a "cam only" price.
Jeg's and Summit almost always have the best prices...just my experience. If not, I need to check out these Northern Auto guys :-)
Hi Gtex, I talked to them last week, as I was pricing a cam, and was quoted " cam and lifters, its our everyday price ". Just trying to pass on some cost savings for some of these guys, as these things get expensive to work on sometimes. Al
