Originally posted by PaulC BTW the LTX M/S is available as white-lettered in 265/70-17. I had a set.
Thanks!
I wasn't sure as Michelin doesnt always put white letters on their whole tire line (particular style).
I previously stated that I paid 170 + 10 for my AT's....I just checked my reciept....I paid 161.13 + 10 and that was special order price. Just in case some one was losing sleep over this...
I bought these tires about 4000 miles ago and they are awsome. The dry handling is suprub and so is the wet, the wet tracktion is very impressive. I have a 2000 F150 Supercad 4X4 and it handles 100 times better than with the stock wranglers. In my oppion you will not go wrong with these tires, I have seen very limited bad remarks about them and I wonder what people are expecting out of a truck handleing.
I never said the Long Trail was a bad tire, did I? I just said that you can't make the assumption that a tire is good just because an oem uses it. The Ford/Firestone thing is an excellent example of that!
I found 6ply made by K/Springfield, P265/70R/17 raised whit letters, called Trail Busters, mounted and balanced today for $112.00/ tire. (I've got a set of them on my 2001 SuperCrew, wasn't sure they still had them. However, the tire tread pattern has changed some).
The tire guy will NOT allow a GoodYear to stay on his property to sell them for me, so I guess I'll bring them home, and plant flowers in them.

Will buy them in about a month.
Thanx,
Sounds like a steal to me.
One thing that you should check though....There is no such thing as a 6ply rated "P"265/70r17 tire. The "P" is the designator for 4 ply rated.
If your looking for the 6 ply rated, it would read LT265/70R17, see down further.
Maybe it was a typo.
Typical Load rating system goes something
like this for truck tires (not counting Flotation).
Pxxx/xxRxx-----4ply rated.
LTxxx/xxRxx--"LT" with or without "Load Range C", is 6ply rated.
" "--- with "Load Range D" is 8ply rated.
" "--- with "Load Range E" is 10ply rated.
and so on...
