I have a 2003 6.0 6 spd with no low end grunt! This truck just seems to worse all the time. My wife will not drive it anymore because she don't know if she'll get out in traffic or not! It is our only vehicle so it leaves me hauling her and the kids around for appointments and shopping! Been in the shop 3 different times and my tech has had heated discussions with Hot Line (i've heard them!) to no avail.
Can anyone tell me which is the better way to go?? Florida Lemon Law is plain and simple. 3 attempts for the same problem, Letter to Ford stating such. They get one last try. If no fix, For either replaces the vehicle with like vehicle up to 105% of the retail value of lemon vehicle or full cash refund of purchase price including all taxes and fees. DSB i am a little confused about.
I've already got a spray in liner, fuel tank guages, grill gaurd and exhaust on the truck but don't know if i'll get anything out of that or not!??
I had a GMC 6.5D for a year and a half, was in the shop more than I had it; GM tried really hard to fix it, but I had to correct this; the lemon law in Illinois is tooth less, so I went the route of federal court. I first looked for Ralph Nader the consumer advocate, who has law offices across the country through the Center for Auto Safety(CAS). I contacted the firm in Illinois and the really neat thing is they represent you for no cost! Under the statute the corporation in this case GM had to pay my attorney fees which were over $ 2000.00. You need to document everything that you can regarding mechanical problems, any incoveniences to you, etc. When we truned the GMC over to GM, I inquired as to there investment in parts and man hours, the figure was over $ 55000.00. I told them it would have been cheaper to use the truck as a crash vehicle. I came back to Ford and will stay with Ford. Remember, YOU do have rights!! It sometimes takes some effort to fine out how to use them, but now I know that I am not powerless.
I Just went through the final step and got my money through the Fl lemon law last friday, for a VW. I promptly went straight to the Ford dealer literally and bought an '03 6.0 F-250. If you want a your money back Its worth it I made out like a bandit. It took about 7 months though from start to finish. I don't know about Ford but If I had just gotten a new VW I would have had it in about 2 weeks. But like I said I made out very good. The Lemon law is very pro consumer. But you have to jump through alot of hoops to get there, IE. better business bureau. Which doesn't have to follow the Lemon Law. If you look on the attorney Generals website concerning the lemon law you can find links to case summaries to help you prepare for your case. You dont need a lawyer I did my case all on my own. I also Lemon Lawed my wife's VW as well on the same day. So it was fun to take that much money from a car MFG. Almost $18,000 between the two of us. I did get money for the addons like tinting, leather arm rest, aluminum shift **** etc. You have a pretty good shot at winning Just do your homework and research and you should do fine. The manufacturer will try to settle the problem before it gets to the state so they don't have to disclose the car as a lemon on resale. I can ramble on about the lemon law all day, so if you have any more specific questions feel free to email me il help you out anyway I can. thedons94(No Email Addresses In Posts!)
