Glove box

Can anyone tell me how to get a new glove box (cardboard?) into place without tearing it up? Thanks, Bob

Remove the heater box first.

If that doesn't work,
You will have to bend it ever so lightly to Push & scrape it into position,

I covered the exterior of mine with metal tape (for use in HVAC applications) prior to re-install. It didn't make it any easier to install per se, but it should keep the somewhat flimsy unit from deteriorating prematurely...

I fiberglassed the outside of mine, undercoated the inside, then had to wait a few months to drop the heater to get it in.

So, unless you can squeeze it through the opening with luck and not tear it, it looks like from under the dash is the easiest way.

I was pretty successful installing from the front. I did remove the glove box door and it was about 95 degrees out. That I am sure helped some.

Take the door off, but also the latching mechanism on the top inside of the opening . Its held by 2 screws and pushes off with a little force. Then you can (massage) the box in easily, just dont force it. Cardboard is flexible, just me careful.

Turn it sideways and push one end in first. I used the plastic one and it's good.

Check out the FTE Tech Articles. There's a new article on there, that might provide you with what you're looking for. When I get the free time, I make them and put them up on Ebay. If ya need help or have questions about the process then lemme know. If any of you local people need help lemme know. I've got all the metal working tools in my garage to make these.
