I have a project that i am working on the Chassis was originally a 1999 E-350 Superduty Ambulance that had a 7.3 Powerstroke diesel. I have stripped and removed the cab and will soon remove the rear box (If any one is interested in the box it is for sale). The engine was allready removed when I purchased the van. I want to mount a 6.8 V-10 on the frame. My question is will the Engine stands that mount to the frame and support the engine mounts work with the 6.8 or will i have to go to ford and buy a set of V-10 engine stands
Let me make sure I understand what you have... an ambulance with no cab, no rear box, no motor.. kind of a Mad Max looking vehicle you're dropping a V-10 into. I'm thinkiing Rock Buggy... definitely!
Sounds like you have plenty of room with the motor on the hoist to check for motor mount issues, although I'm fairly confident they are different parts - I'll check my manual to follow up. You could either get the mounts from a delaer or local wrecking yard. Depending on what you are planning to put on top of the chassis, you might be able to cut and fab the mount yourself, although I have found it a better use of time and $$ to scrounge the wrecking yard first.
