Hello- I have a 1993 ford flairside f150, 2 whl drive with a 302 with EOD 77 thous miles original. It has pacesetter high flow exaust and a K&N filter. I plan to put in a performance chip this spring when i take it out of storage. NOW THE QUESTION Which computer chip is correct for this truck and what can i expect from the chip? and what octane gas will do for the modification. will there be anything else i have to do to make the chip perform to it's max. ( I am used to the old high perf work before this computer nonsense/EPA came along and built many a race car/street car in the past but never fooled with the newer stuff).- Thanks guys i appreciate the replys
I put a Superchip in a '93 F150 that I used to own. It had a 302 and AOD tranny. The chip requires 91 octane fuel, but the improvement in performance was worth the price.
The installation method I used is posted in the tech articles section here at FTE.
thanks guys for the replys. I was looking at the chips and i believe i would need PDQ 3101 in the 2 stage diablo chip. What do they mean by two stage? It lists stock program and hi octane hi perf program. Does stock program mean it will run like it was built stock from the factory? and how would you switch between the two modes?.--Thanks much
