Chip Malfunction

I've had a TS Performance 6 position chip for about a year and a half now and have been happy with it. But two or three times last winter when it was cold out, like 10 degrees, the chip just didn't work. I could turn the **** to any position, but it was like it was set on the stock setting. The reason I know this is because of the low performance and the high idle not working. Now it malfunctioned again a few days ago and it was only like 40 degrees. But if I shut down and restart it a while later it will work totally fine.

Any ideas what the problem may be? Bad ****, bad connection between the chip and computer? I had it taped in. Do you guys put any dielectric grease on the terminals before you plug the chip in?

Electronics don't like the cold. Never had that problem but my laptop needs to warm up if I leave it in my truck overnight.

With the keys in the house ( or in your pocket will do ) you may want to pull the chip & make sure the contacts are nice & clean & that the chip is seated properly....

Anyone else have anymore thoughts on this? I will check and make sure it is seated properly and cleaned but its a mystery to me why it will only act up a few times a year.

Someone was tipping them back?
Blame it on site error!

Its possible that the chip reverts to OEM burn due to the voltage drop from the cold start load. How old are the Batts?

I believe the batteries are from '01 and I was thinking of replacing them soon just to be safe. Maybe that's the problem?
