Valvoline Synthetic
Anybody have any good/bad experience with the Valvoline synthetic oil for the PS. I just tried my first change with it. went with 5w-40 due to our extremely cold temps here in Minnesota. Is it safe to go with the recomended 7,000 mile change?

Do a search on Mobil oil (6.0) and you will find plenty of info.....good stuff

mobil one is the best oil out there. amsoil is okay too.

i was told not to use synthetic till 10000 miles.

Just make sure It's blended for diesel engines. There is a big deferents in the additives between Gas and diesel engine oils.

I have been using Motorcraft 15w-40 PSD oil year around. It gets in the mid 20's around here. Is this a good wieght for winter or do I need to go thinner????????? Oh, I have a 6.0 PSD.

Mobil 1 is not the proper API rating for this engine. You must find Delvac 1 in a mobil distributor to use Mobil in this engine.

Delo 400 synthetic is supposed to be excellent as well. Dunno about valvoline, but I think it is not a true synthetic, if the old mind isn't failing.

I am using Delvac.

I put the synthetic in at 4900 miles. First oil change. Wouldn't worry to much, after the first change, it really isn't like years ago. Things are much better now.

by the way i finally found MD1 in Abq, case for 88.30. not abad at all
