How to Read the VIN
Here is an example of the truck VIN
F10V4K14887
F10=F-100 series
V=239 Engine
4=1954
K=Kansas City, Place of Origination
14887=Number off of Assembly for 1954

How about my engine number??
1949 F3
88RY 114335 - Engine number from the name plate that was stuck in the ash tray about 20 years ago.
The only other thing that is stamped into the plate is 8 R in the lower right.
Where did they put the VIN?
