The 100 was available with the 9", a Dana 44 or the D60. The latter with 3.54 gears and limited slip is much sought after by those of us with 4.56 gears in D60s. If it is a D60 you will see "60" cast into lower corner of the housing. The 9" is a lot easier and cheaper to repair, but if you have a half-ton D60, be aware that it has value.

I don't care about gear size's Just 9" rear , new one I know about any on have a 61-62 9" s /w rear axle in is a N case stock from factory W / out The N marking 's I know because has the larger Rear pinion bearing in it what I used to use back in 70-73 when drag racing Boss mustang's. Never broke one !!! junk yard's every where will be gone soon if not aready crushed!!! Don
Yo, How did the rear go out in 3rd and not 1st & 2nd?
I think you are driving a tranny that you are not used to. The C-O-M has to be put in the second drive or green dot location. Should you be driving in the first drive location you will not get it in drive.
No, trans. 3rd went out I have reverse only when driving around less then 25 miles. trans. shifts 1-2 then thats it . went to nutreal and pulled down one, no 3rd - crusise- o - matic -but it brought me home.
