I have questions about getting more power out of my 98 3.0 ranger? I have changed my plugs to bosh platinum 4s and new plug wires, also added a K&N cold air induction. and run 93 gas any other suggestions on how to get more power especialy top end
93 is overkill, your truck doesn't need anything better than 87... I personally run 89 in my 3.0 and have never had any knock problems... Running too high of an octane fuel may actually hurt performance...
Have you thought about a cat-back exhaust or a chip? I have a gibson cat-back and that added a little more getup, can't comment on the chips but have heard good things. Our parts store has both and you could get more details from them or our chip forum.
running 93 octane won't do any good unless you get a chip. Only thing it will do in a stock engine is reduce the likelyhood of detonation. I have to agree with ken, a cat-back and especially a chip will give you some good power. And also some headers would help greatly with the cat-back. Also, if you have the money, a MSD DIS4 multi spark ignition module would help.
