Mystery Part
What is that black box mounted under the hood, passenger's side, near the windshield? It's on and 84 F250 4x4 with a 460, Holley 4bbl. The box has an ITT and Ford logo on it. One wire comes in to it, and there's a ground lead (broken) coming out. It appears that another wire has been snipped off, too. Truck runs fine without it. It's got CA emissions, so maybe it's an emissions componenet? P/N stamped on the box is E2TB-15550-AA
My curiosity is killing me and neither the local parts house nor the Ford dealer found it in their computers.

I was thumbing through a parts catalog and THERE IT WAS! It's the under hoop lamp. It must have some sort of attitude sensor in it that causes the light to come on when the hood is raised.
