Hi, I have a 1978 Ford F250 supercab with the 400 engine and getting someone to smog it is really hard because it's missing the emissions sticker and because they see the truck has no cat no evap so they kinda think it's an undercover vehicle. I eventually found an old timer who was willing to smog it but I was wondering where would I find the emissions label for it, the part number is D8TE 9C485 ACA so it would be easier to find a smog tech who is willing to smog it.

Welcome to FTE
You shouldn't "have" a problem smogging your truck here in the communistic country of Ca, as long as you have all the components that truck came with unless it was fed built sold truck,
You could ask your smog shop for a diagram so that you can double check before you have it tested...
I thought I was going to have an issue smogging mine after I rebuilt my motor but my smog shop gave me a diagram they had and it passed due to having the parts WITHOUT
the "Vehicle Emissions Control Information" decal
Have you tried looking at the online catalogs for NPD,Dennis Carpenter,Bronco Graveyard yet? you might get lucky and find one close ....enuff
My truck isnt a california certified it's a federal certified and many shops in San Francisco won't touch the truck because it's too big and they can't tell if it's a California or federal truck. Many of the techs don't know what they are looking at so they claim that it's been tampered with but if they look up the diagram that's how a federal 400 came from the factory. I tried all the online sites and they only have 1977 400 stickers
Does your pickup have the large gas filler or does it have the baffle at the inlet to only accept the unleaded pump handle? If it has that baffle it was built to run unleaded and probably had a cat. Leaded gas and catalytic converters didn't mix. That might help you prove your case.
