96 Explorer CD Quit

96 Explorer XLT w/6 CD changer (OEM). The changer works fine, loads and unloads great. But CD's will not play. Was working great. Then one day it just quit. A few days ago, it started up again, then it just quit again yesterday. I get a message saying NO CD. I can remove changer, re-insert, the player will take in each cd one by one and then eject telling me that there is NO CD. I bought a cleaning CD, but that did not effect it. As a matter of fact, it wouldn't read the cleaning CD either.

Does anyone know what is wrong? Dirty Lens? My next step is to take it out and see if I can clean something inside. Maybe some compressed air, (carefully administered) would take care of the problem?
