parts interchange
I have a '79 F100 with a worn 302 and C4 auto
I just bought a wrecked '84 mercury W/ a 302 and AOD
i plan on just swaping motors
will the '84 flywheel work with '79 TQ converter?
are the blocks the same?
what parts interchange?
anything else that may interfear with the swap?
some tips would help too.

The 79 flexplate has or should have a 28 oz balance and the 84 motor has a 50 oz. So unless the aod flexplate is identical to the c4's (which its possible) you will need a c4 flexplate with 50 oz balance to put the 84 motor with the c4 tranny/ converter. later

yes the aod flexplate will work on a c4. switch the mounts and your set. unless you need to change pulleys and accessories and then you may run into problems or more extra work. anyway it will bolt right up.
