I have heard of a metal tag that is bolted on to the diff cover, but I haven't ever looked at one. The axle ratio would be on the door jam with a ford code. You would have to look it up in a shop manual. You can also mark the driveshaft and tires, roll the truck foreward, and count the number of driveshaft rotations for 1 rotation of the tires.

There's really only one way to be sure and that's to count. easiest way (so you don't have to run along with the truck as someone pushes it) is to jack up both rear wheels and put the tranny in neutral. spin one wheel and note the direction the other one moves, this is important. If they both move the same way rotate the tire once and count how many times the driveshaft goes around. if when you spin one tire the other one spins in the opposite direction, spin the tire twice and count how many times the driveshaft goes around. take the number of times the shaft goes around and that's your ratio. if it goes around 3 times it's a 3:1, 4 times is a 4:1, etc.
