Gear ratio

Is there a digit in the VIN that will tell me what the gear ratio is? Or is there another way to tell?

No, it's on the door sticker and on the rear end tag.

you can do a burnout and have someone count the rotations of the driveshaft to wheel

You can enter your V.I.N. # into the V.I.N. decoder in the "Tech Tools" tab at the top of the web page, it gave me all the info about my truck, (including the gear ratio that it came with from the factory).

Once I get the vin I'll run it. It said HD tow pkg on the sticker, did the 4.30s come standard in the HD tow pkg?
