Duraspark Questions
I just finished my duraspark conversion on a 351W motor. I cannot get the engine to fire.
I do have power at the coil, but the plugs are not firing.
Does anyone have troubleshooting guidelines for the duraspark system?
I do not have a ballast resistor in the system. Do I need one?
I will be rewiring the whole truck, I just want to get the new ignition system running before I tear out the old harness.

You will have power at the coil with the key "on", as long as it is hooked up correctly....and it seems it is. It is pretty much a direct wire from ignition switch to coil +
What you could be missing is:
1) ground to the coil, supplied from the ignition module, green wire if stock.
2) power to the ignition module, 12 volts to the red wire with key in "run" and 12 volts to the white wire with key in "start"
3) no distributor "trigger" to the module from the pickup coil in the distributor, on orange and purple wires if stock.
4) ground to module, black wire from distributor.
Or if all is hooked up correctly...maybe a dead module.

Thanks a million group,
I appreciate the help. I will get this up and running this weekend, the wiring had gotten hacked-up over the years I will disconnect the connections that I am not sure of first, Then I will get this up and running.
I just want to make sure that it runs before I tear out the harness.
