Just did a fluid/filter change in truck. Went to shift through gears starting with Park going to low 1 and back while at idle. Couldn't/wouldn't shift to low 1. I took it for a test drive and left in drive. Seemed to shift through gears fine. Came to a stop and shifted all the way down manually. Coloumn on shifter read low 2. Shifted into drive at 2500rpm. When I did this rpm dropped to about 2000rpm and rose to about 2300rpm and shifted again. Had the OD turned off. Turned it on and shifted.
Can the rest of you shift into low 1 or is this just me?
Did it work ok before you did the fluid change?
Does the shifter physically go the whole way down into manual 1st? Last week I had one that wouldnt go past 2nd. There was a rock jammed in behind the shift lever on the transmission preventing the lever from moving the whole way.
Don't know if it worked before. Just bought the truck and trying to do some preventive maintance. Wouldn't of found problem if I han't read in one of the threads to shift through all gears after changing fluid. The shifter will not go all the way down into manual first. Will look around the shift lever on the tranny. Hope its as simple as that. Don't think it's anything to major or the tranny wouldn't shift right when left in drive. Thanks for the advice.
