My 95 F150 XL came through with roll up windows and no power locks and I was wondering if anyone in the group has ever replaced the manual units with electric windows and power locks ? If so, how hard a job is it and can you offer any instalation tips ?
I have never switched from manual to electric. But switching electrics is easy. Just have to drill a few holes. I hear the windows mechs are the same. Just a matter of changing the "motor".
As for the locks, I got a generic power lock kit off ebay. They are much cheaper than buying oem actuators and are simple to install.
As for windows you will need the motor and regulator. Just drill out the rivets on the regulators and swap them. Wire them up and your done. I replaced the whole door panels and used oem switches.
Here is a link to a post I wrote when I completed them.
