lol, i just throw a rope ladder out for my g/f .....i like yupbilly...that's what my dad is!
actually those drop down steps are awesome but to me it is just something else to go wrong esp it being electric. also i would drag mine across a rock and kiss it goodbye.
i thought about a set of half doors for the summer that would drop down and be a set of steps...kind of like what's in smaller aircraft! that'd be sweet as hell!

I agree. I pull to the line with only one hub locked, and have the flagman lock the other. Then he has to unlock it when I am pulled back so I can turn to get back to the pits.

I saw a ladder on a lifted truck that was really cool. The guy used link chain for the verticals and rod stock for the rungs. They hung down from the area of his rocker panel from a bar that had some arms bolted to the frame. By doing this they could be left in place because if you go over a rock or something the chain would deform adn the ladder would just get out of the way.
You know, you could save a lot of headaches and just install an OX Locker. Get off-road, lock the hubs, and select as you go. It's open when not engaged, so steering can be easy, and when you get to some tough stuff, just pull on the handle, and there you go, locked solid, instant spool.

that's what makes off-roading so much fun...not everyone has front and rear lockers and 44" boggers! I think it makes the sport so much more fun. But hey...that's me and I'm weird
to me the best way to go is a Detroit in the rear and an ARB up front...they really aren't quite as expensive as most ppl think! look it up!
although if you are gonna lay down the cash for a front spool then I would certainly back it up with a ram-assist steering setup!

i think i will chance it, plus i am sure i can come up with some sort of guard for it!
the Detroit Electrac has its vulnerabilities up front too. The Ox is great but the more expensive of the 3. Eaton doesn't have an ELocker for many things yet. Of course if you figure in the cost of a compressor it evens things out, and I assume one compressor would run front and back.
I have an lockright up front its real nice no problems. With this big truck the steering is fine on snow and dirt and no problems with steering left or right like my yota had. If I could get a detroit soft locker fo the front I would put it in there cause they are the best locker in the world...I like to have no problems and the LR is simple and it works. I can't use a spool or a ARB cause its a spool when locked...LR for my truck was $300.00 and alot of work to put in the front..
