I am thinking about swapping out my T18 tranny for a C6 tranny. I have access to a rebuilt 4wd C6 transmission. My main question is if the transmission cross members are the same? If not can you use the orginal cross member I have in my truck.

The cross members are the same. My truck is currently laid up getting this same mod. The process is a lot smoother if you remove the whole plate from the floor of the cab- much better access to the tranny and transfer case bolts.

 

That is good news to hear. I am going to probably pull everything out the front cause I am putting on new fenders and radiator support. I hear you about the T-case bolts, I remeber moving mine without the body lift installed, I was glad I had a nice set of Gear Wrenches!!! What type of shifter are you going with? Are you going togo with a floor like a Lokar style or Hurst? Or are you going to go with the column shifter? I was thinking of using one of the Hurst Univeral ones they have a nice long handle for the trucks.

I am making a shifter using an old NP435 shifter, and a B&M shifter cable. A lot of fabrication work there, but doable.

 

how are your swaps going guys i want to do the same thing to mine so all the info you could give me would help alot

c6 4x4 setup.just had this one rebuilt all the way through it is in exellent shape.

 

This is the closest thread I could find that might help with what I need. Does anyone know if the C6 tranny from a 302 will work on a straight 6 that came with a NP435?

 

The 300 and the 302 have the same bellhousing bolt pattern, if that's what you're asking.
