Hood latch cable broke

I went out and looked at my 98 F150 Supercab to see what I would do. I can lift the hood and look around, something you can't do right now. I would remove the plastic splash plate under the front bumper just forward of the radiator and operate the latch from underneath. Unless there is a stub of cable you can grab onto underneath the dash that looks like your only option. It looks like a bit of a challenge but not impossible.
Thanks now I'm ready for when mine breaks.

Ok I fixed it. The cable was not broken, rather the latch was just stuck. I pulled the splash guard aside and was able (barely) to get a socket on the two bolts holding the latch in place. After I removed them I was able to lift the hood enough to remove the catch on the hood. Once the hood was up, I cleaned and greased the latch mechanism and got it working again.
