is this true invoice $?
Folks—I am trying to follow the advice posted here. I requested a quote for SE Florida from carsdirect.com and got back the following – a dealer saying that they will sell me the below described truck for $100 above their invoice price, after $1,000 for a Ford rebate. Is this what they are saying and is this what is meant by getting a car near invoice price? Thanks,Hank
From a Southeast Florida dealer to me:
"Due to the overwhelming response from the internet shopper we are at this time working out fleet prices for all internet shoppers like your self, what that means is $100 over dealer invoice. Now the Utility you are interested in has a sticker price of $22,010 less a $1000 cash rebate from ford, the dealer invoice amount is $19,823 + 100, so your internet fleet price is $18,923, This is the best price we can do over the net, now if you have a better price than that please call me so we can see if we can save you additional money."

Go to www.forddirect.com, build your truck and you can print out what MSRP and Invoice is. This is a great website. Then you can balance it off of what the dealer says.

That number is invoice, almost to the penny. As far as price goes, they're being straight with you. If you feel comfortable with the dealer, and they have a decent reputation (from what I understand, that's a rare commodity in Florida), I'd say you have a deal.
