Anybody have any ideas on how to make my f250 turn sharper? Everything is against me, it's a 94 ext cab long bed 4x4. Great truck, but these small parking lots and streets now a days are killing me.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-Oct-02 AT 11:17 AM (EST)]Ya, it involves picking up speed, jabbing the brake and pulling the wheel real hard, but I don't recomend it for parking lot situations
I had a 93 ex cab, longbed, it was a land bardge to say the least.
I was especially difficult to plow snow with in driveways.
I really don't think anything can be done to over come the radius
Sorry your stuck with it because the wheels won't turn any sharper because the tires will rub the suspension frame etc if your running wider tires its worse.
You could always rig up your front brakes to lock up and power on it to get the *** end to swing around
cross over steering setups, like the kits sold from ORU, advertise sharper turning radius.. I dont know how they explain accomplishing that, but thats what the advertise.. might be a way to get the wheels to crank over another inch for about a grand?

ORU cross-over steering only increases what you loose when you do a 10" or over lift. It brings your turning radius close to stock because it relocates the steering arm above the leaf springs, which allows you to make the right hand turns without the arm running into the leaf springs. this wouldnt be an option for you
I can tell how to make the turning radius worse:
Buy a crew cab, long box dually like mine! It takes me almost 5 traffic lanes to make a U-turn! One thing I've noticed is that if you go real slow, the turn is a little tighter (unless you want to try the method others have mentioned which involves going much faster and skidding tires).
