so correct me if i am wrong if the hp pump is not working correctly if i accelerat too fast the engine will starve, or will it just not get gas period?
If either of your pumps isn't working then your truck probably won't even start. Or if it does, it will run really rough. Why are you asking? Is there a problem with yer Bronco?
ya if i accelerate too fast it acts like it is starving, sputters like i am out of gas and then when i lett off it returns to running fine. it runs pretty good if i baby it but when i get on it this happens....both pumps and the filter above the hp pump are pretty new....new pcv valve...don't think i have any vacume leeks but the hp pump is realy loud (humming)....i don't know where to go from here????????
How new is your air filter? Also, maybe your cat could be plugged. How does you rotor and distributor cap look? Is it wet at all? Check for cracks in it. You said your fuel filter was fairly new........how new? It is recommended that they be replaced once a year. Let me know.....I'll try to think of other things too.
I am not sure about the cat...... If the cap and rotor are wet with moisture or they are really dirty on the contacts it won't fire properly. If the cap is wet it is probably due to not be on properly or it could have a crack in it. If you find it is wet, take the cap off (but leave the wires on) and use a blow dryer to dry itout. Then take it for a drive. If it drives fine then that is your problem. Good luck!
