Compression

How about this. The motor in the race truck(473 cu. in. 460), after assembly, broke a 300 psi compression gauge!! Wondering what you guys have done. Compression figures right around 14.5:1, enough to warrant 114 octane race fuel.

you ain't kiddin'. Stock starter lasted three times, and barely turned it over hot.

With 14.5 CR your only running 205 psi at the compression tester. Unless my math is just way off this morning. What are your #'s for the heads, pistons, gaskets, and so on?
