I have a 94 F150 that has a straight 6 with automatic and would like to buy a wrecked 94 Mustang and swap the engine and transmission. Will the truck harness plug into the Mustang engine harness and will the Mustang computer plug into the truck harness. If it's easy I'll do it.
Don
You'd be better off w/ a wrecked truck's motor (more trucks out there too). You'd have to change the intake if it was a mustang, and possibly the camshaft. The mustang engine makes most of it's power on the higher RPMs, where you need the lower RPM power for a truck.
I only use the truck for driving not towing. No one answered my question. Will the existing harness hook up to the Mustang engine harness and will the Mustang computer plug into the truck harness?
no, it will not interchange. the computer will attach to harness, but wires are in different locations, and you will burn something up. i would use the stock wiring harness from the mustang along with computer. also, my 95 was speed density, mustangs from 89 were mass air, and i also know some 94 f150s were mass air, but not many i have seen. it will take some time, use injector rails from your truck, since the supply lines come from back of engine, on a mustang, they come from the passenger front. it can be done, i assure you, but you would basically need to fab a little things, but not hard. you would need to convert to a lightning set-up induction, unless you want to keep your stock set-up. with time, it would be a nice mod.
