Advice on damage from accident
I have a '99 B4000 4X4 auto and was involved in an accident this week in which a senile little old lady driving an early 80's tank driving on the other side of the expressway going the other direction crossed three lanes of traffic and the median trying to exit at the entrance ramp on my side and struck me on the left side right on the rear wheel. The collision left my right wheel in the normal position but my left wheel was under the bumper with the spring broke, etc. The drive shaft broke loose at the pinion and beat the bottom of the bed until I could get the engine stopped. The body shop says its fixable, which I hated to hear as I was already pricing a new Ranger or Mazda. So, if it is fixable I want it done right.
Any suggestions on what I need to have the shop replace or check besides the obvious damage. I can just see transfer case or differential seals leaking, ABS going bad or what have you down the road.
