ramshorn exhaust

ramshorn exhaust
I have found three sets of ramhorn exhaust. They are on 53 to 56 coe trucks. Will they fit my 292 truck engine? What size engines did these large trucks have? Anyone interested in a set if they are correct?

Yes, I'm interested. There are two Y-block engines, the little y-block and the big Lincoln, HD truck y-block.
I'll look back at some posts. I remember someone describing how to tell their exhaust manifolds apart. Something about the bolts. Hold on for a sec.

The easiest way is to look at the bolt pattern. The ones that fit a 292/312 all have the bolt holes in a straight line. The Lincolns are staggered at the ends.

The 53 is most probably a Lincoln style 279/317 as the Ford Y didnt arrive until 54.
If the COE is a C750 or larger they will have the bigger truck engines.
If memory serves the Y rams didnt start until 57 and were in C500 thru 700 series as well as options on F series.

Hello Guys
I Just took a look at the horns on my 64 F250, the ones for the 272-292 ford, have the bolt holes in a strait line across, as pcmenten describes.
I found mine off a cab/chassis truck am guessing 58to 60 era.
The junk yard stuck me 85 bucks each about ten years ago, but they are much easier to install dual exhaust.
The driver side rear discharge manifold off a car will not work on the truck with a manual trans, Due to the clutch release pivot being in the way.
