does anyone remember those fuel line magnet things?? they claimed to align the fuel molecules for better combustion, fuel economy, and more power. it seems like all that crap is suposed to add 30% more power, 15% better fuel economy. most newer engines burn 98% of the fuel that passes through so theoretically if there was some miracle add on that resulted in perfect combustion it could only add 2% better millage. as far as horsepower is concerned the only way to add power is to raise combustion pressure by dumping more fuel and air in and adding a chunk of metal right in the airflow path will cause a pressure drop thus slowing down the air. sure it might make the airflow turbulant for about 1 in but then it will go laminar untill it's sucked past the valves. headers and k&N filters work great because they have little resistance to flow.. i think i'm gonna invent something that plugs up the exhaust i'll sell it on tv at 3am and say it gives the engine more time for a complete burn or some crap.. . there's a famous saying "a fool and his money are soon parted" if that wasn't true these b.s. companies wouldn't survive. if you don't believe be check this out..http://aquatune.com/index.asp
but please don't buy it!!!!
Well I put one on a 94 chevy 4x4 and I did get better gas mileage went up by 2-4 mpg .. I tried it again on my 96 dodge it didn't help ... My Dad just put one on his 2001 f150 supercrew today . I did take the from my dodge and slipped it in on my 99 v10 superduty when I traded a year ago .. I forgot it was there till Dad said he put one in .... Fred
These things are great, by 8 or 10 of them, put two on your truck, one on the old ladys car, give some to the neibors, put one on your dog....But seriously, dont wast your money, any so-called swirl effect will be straitened out by the butterfly in your throttle boby and by the intake valves.
