83 f250 white smoke issue
my buddy wants to sell me an 83 f250 6.9 liter, deisel truck, but he said before he changed the fuel filter and the fuel/water seperator, it did not blow white smoke. now it does blow white smoke all of the time. any idea what might be wrong? thanks.

Welcome to FTE!
It's kinda hard to tell with a diesel where white smoke is coming from. If it's grayish-white, and doesn't dissapate quickly, then it is fuel smoke, caused by the timing being overadvanced. If it is really white, then it is most likely collant smoke, from a blown head gasket.
