What is your coolant level in the degas bottle?
Is there any coolant that has been pushed out of the cap?
Look at the egr valve and see if it is all wet. It should be dry.

Lets wait until OP comes back with a more concise description.
Mine (nothing wrong) does the same.. smoke and bog.. until it warms properly.
Normal by my book --- what happens where I am is cold enough to trip up the engine.

I thought blowing white smoke out of the tailpipe. 99% of time is a EGR cooler/Oil Cooler Failure? With bad HG's it just pukes out of the degas bottle cap. Ive not heard of one smokeing white that was caused by HG's.

When a head gasket blows it allows antifreeze in the cylinder causing white smoke.I have had two do it. Depends on which side of the headngasket u blow. Bent 7 rods on a duramax like this. Still ran but white smoke and real lagy. Guess 400 hp nitrous isnt really good for them but there was only one way to find out back then.
