Where's the sensor for the automatic headlight switch?
Does anyone know where the sensor is for the autolamp control? When I drive to work in the morning I notice my headlights turn of and on a few times during my drive. I want to try putting Scotch tape over the sensor so it turns on earlier and stays on longer.
It's my understanding that the sensor is on the dash (possibly near the defrost vents) You could test this theory by laying a book or newspaper over the vents during the day and see if the headlights come on after about 30 seconds to a minute. (You need to allow the sensor to discharge)
There is a spot on the center of the dashboard with 3 small vent openings. The sensor is located below that. I have heard that there is a potentiometer which can adjust the sensitivity of the sensor. The entire right section of the dashboard top needs to be removed to access the sensor.
